“ITM 2024 is a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with our customers at the highest level to find and offer the best solutions,” said David Godinaud, Co-Leader of the UCMTF Promotion Committee and owner of Alliance Machines Textiles.
As Tekstil Teknoloji magazine, we conducted an interview with David Godinaud for the special section on French Textile Machinery Industry after his new position in the UCMTF Promotion Committee. He is also the owner of Alliance Machines Textiles, an innovative player offering competitive solutions in Eco-Friendly Dyeing Machines, and noted that three key members will be present at the UCMTF stand at ITM 2024, showcasing innovations that draw attention to sustainability, saving raw materials, energy and water.

How has been the gone for the France textile machinery industry in 2023 in terms of performance?
Let me give you some words about UCMTF and its members. UCMTF was founded in 1921. It’s the representative body for French Textile Manufacturers of textile equipment which is what means “Union des Constructeurs de Machines Textiles Français ».
2023 has been a transition year with further innovations and more efficient solutions brought to the markets by the UCMTF members. Driven by their entrepreneurial spirit, our members embraced innovations to perfectly synchronize their future with the future of their customers.
Can you list some UCMTF’s most recent achievements and major projects?
UCMTF took two important steps to be a lever for its members. On the one hand, UCMTF launched a team within the UCMTF members to shape the future and anticipate the market demands and requirements. This is the reason why I’m talking to you today, as co-Leader of the Promotion Committee.
On the other hand, UCMTF aims to be in touch with the market and key countries for its members. That takes place with more international interactions with the professionals of textile machinery. It’s an historical mission always consciously done by the UCMTF team.

How do you look at the future of global textile industry? What role UCMTF will be playing and what are the new developments that one can look forward to for the growth of the textile industry?
Innovation and service are embedded in the DNA of UCMTF’s members. They are long term technology & sustainability partners of their customers. Most of them are small or medium-sized companies, even if international groups are also part of. Specialty equipment which can be custom made are part of the range of solutions offered by them. They are future-oriented developing solutions for hemp textile and/or reaching greener processes, such as natural dyeing.
“Turkey is of Major Importance for Our Sector”
What are your views on Turkey as a potential market for France textile machinery industry in the next few years?
The French Textile Equipment Manufacturers are well known for their catalogue and tailor-made equipment. They also offer turnkey solutions including one or several companies in a one shop model. Let’s tell all our visitors that we will be very honored to welcome them. Turkey is of major importance for our sector. UCMTF members who have no stand will visit ITM and meet their clients, prospects and agents.
How are French Textile Machinery Manufacturers preparing for ITM 2024 Exhibition? How will the exhibition accelerate the textile machinery market, which has stagnated in recent years?
“ITM 2024 is a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with our customers at the highest level to find and offer the best solutions . Of course, there are some main trends: sustainability, raw materials, energy and water savings, recycling, digitalization, cloud computing, artificial Intelligence, cost efficiency etc. Another main trend for UCMTF members is act as a local partner wherever the customers are located.
