Kurt Lamkowski, Global Sales Manager at Picanol, shared his views on the current trends in the world and the future of the textile industry at ITM 2024. Here are the highlights from Lamkowski’s interview: We are a company that regularly participates in the ITM Exhibitions. It’s the first time that we are introducing our new rapier machine, Ultimax in this region of the world. Besides that, we are also showing novelties and new features of our digital platform, PicConnect, which is also a premiere. In addition to that, we are developing machines with higher performance, better efficiencies, on the other hand, we are also preparing the future in terms of sustainability and digitalization.
Speaking about the challenging times that the globe is going through nowadays and the economic contraction in Türkiye, Kurt Lamkowski continued as follows, “It is very important then for our customers, and in general for the textile manufacturers, is that people want to increase their efficiency. There’s also a lack of skilled labor. So they also want to find solutions for their productivity.”
“Our customers are facing challenges in terms of collecting data to improve their business model. So we are trying to bring solutions to them to be more sustainable and support them with features that they can organize their predictions and planning better, thus, they can increase their efficiency. So, that’s also where we are focusing on. With the new machines, we’re introducing a lot of sensors, a lot of digital features. Also all these data is captured. And we’re building algorithms in order to serve our customers to increase their flexibility and productivity.”
Stating that the ITM 2024 Exhibition organised in Istanbul is an important platform as it connects Asia and Europe geographically and economically, Lamkowskİ continued his words as follows He added, “It is a pleasure to be here always at ITM. ITM Exhibition is not only focused on the Turkish market but also a place where customers from other countries meet. We see many of the Central Asian countries are represented here. We see many customers from Iran, from North Africa. So this is also a big opportunity for us to at least meet them here. Therefore, ITM is ideal for us from the location and customer range point of view.” Kurt Lamkowski finalized his statements as follows, “We are quite well known in the market. So we see a lot of existing customers. But yes, indeed, we always see many new potential customers at ITM.”
