Kordsa Acquired Italian Microtex Composites Company
Microtex Composites which an Italian company, produces carbon fiber fabrics and prepegs for the super luxury automotive industry and motor sports. Kordsa is accelerating its activities in Turkey and Europe by acquiring the majority shares of Microtex company. Thus, it will anymore present reinforcement technologies not only to Turkey but to the whole world.
Kordsa which, one of the leading companies in the tire reinforcement industry, has a production network in a wide geography from America to the Asia Pacific Ocean. Kodrsa is preparing to expand its global footprint in the composite field with its new facility in Europe. Kordsa also; aims to increase its sectoral and product-based diversity. Kordsa which exports the technologies it has developed with Turkish engineers at the Composite Technologies Center of Excellence in Turkey, It continues activities to limit global warming below 1.5°C.

Sabancı Holding Industry Group and Kordsa Chairman of the Board Cevdet Alemdar evaluated the company’s new investment as follows: “Kordsa’s acquisition of Microtex Composites is a very important step in opening the products we developed in our country to the world market and bringing advanced technology to our country. Microtex Composites is a major player in the luxury and electric vehicle market in Europe. With this acquisition, Kordsa, an advanced materials company, further strengthens our position in Europe. We aim to lead the sector with our Microtex Composites investment in composite technologies, which is an important part of our sustainability-oriented growth strategy.
Kordsa CEO İbrahim Özgür Yıldırım stated that with the new investment, they strengthened their existing position as an advanced material technology company while expanding their product range. Yıldırım said that one of the areas studied in the composite technologies market, which they entered in 2012, is mobility and that they aim for less emission and added; With the Microtex Composites investment in Europe, we will have taken an important step that will strengthen our operational capability and our place in the supply chain.
