Kornit Digital Offers Its Customers On-Demand Production Models
We interviewed for the Tekstil Teknoloji magazine with MatTex Sales Manager Burak Kaftanoğlu, who provided information regarding the activities of Kornit Digital in the Turkish market, the latest technologies it has developed, and the products they will introduce at the ITM 2022 Exhibition.
Could you please provide some brief information about Kornit’s technologies for the textile industry and the advantages these technologies contribute to their users?
As you know, many sectors all over the world have sought solutions for a more sustainable life due to the increasing drought in recent years. The textile industry ranks second in the world in terms of water consumption and wastewater. Especially conventional printing technologies, as well as digital printing technologies that require pre-treatment and post-processing, consume a lot of water. While Kornit Digital offers production with zero water consumption to the whole world, it also offers optional production models to manufacturers who want to produce as much as they need. Machines and dyes produced by Kornit Digital print without applying any pre-treatment liquid (PAT) to the fabric and provide wearable technologies without any processing after drying.
Could you please tell us about the position of Kornit in the Turkish market? As MatTex, what can you say about your cooperation with Kornit and the advantages of this cooperation?
MatTex is a Mat Group company. Our group, which has been providing printing technologies to the packaging and label industry as Matset Inc for many years, established MatTex in 2021 to present sustainable production technologies to the textile industry. Kornit Digital has been serving the Turkish textile industry for many years with reliable printing technologies. Kornit Digitalpresented HD technology to its manufacturers at the beginning of 2021 through MatTex. In the second half of 2021, the company enabled its manufacturers to make 3D printing thanks to the revolutionary XDi technology that it developed recently for the textile industry. MatTex was appreciated as the rising star of 2021 with its dynamic and experienced staff who have been serving the printing industry for many years. While this young team is delivering innovations to its manufacturers in the fastest and most accurate way, the Turkish textile industry, which has been increasing its efforts on branding day by day, has started to increase its production with high added value.
Could you evaluate the year 2021 for both your company and the textile printing industry?
In the year 2021, while the effects of the troublesome Covid-19 outbreak were felt, many changes were seen in the textile industry due to the changing world order. In particular, people who have been confined to their homes have requested customized productions while placing orders on the internet. While the number of waste products decreased day by day and the comfort of stockless production savored, the textile industry quickly adapted to this new business model. Mat Group closed the year 2021 healthy and above expectations. As MatTex, we managed to be recognized as a rising star in the textile industry even in our first year.
‘‘We Will Present Surprise Technologies to the Manufacturers at the ITM 2022 Exhibition’’
What will you say about your plans, projects, innovations and breakthroughs for 2022?
We will enable the manufacturers to experience Kornit’s sustainable printing technologies at the MatTex Experience Center, which we have newly established in 2022. The direct digital printing system on colored fabric developed by Kornit will increase the production diversity of our customers. The tailor-made business model is being accepted by more and more manufacturers. We will try to make the Kornit Micro Factory production model widespread in the Turkish textile market. In this way, it will be possible to produce with zero stock.
What will you exhibit at the ITM 2022? Are you going to introduce new technologies at the event? Can you please elaborate?
While exhibiting the DTG and DTF printing systems, which are Kornit Digital technologies, at the ITM exhibition, we will also inform the manufacturers about the Kornit X workflow system. In addition to these, we prepare surprises for the manufacturers regarding technological developments that they will not be able to believe their eyes.
