New product Automation Partners: Process_View OIM
Automation Partners agrees ‘Knowledge is Power’ and for 29 years has focused on providing data and information about fabrics and processes.
‘Knowledge is Power’. Although it is not known for certain who originated this phrase (commonly attributed to Sir Francis Bacon) most seem to accept that it is true. Acquiring information to gain that knowledge seems to be the goal of “Industry 4.0”.
Automation Partners which represented in Turkey by MOM Tekstil Mümessillik, believes that applying knowledge is power but requires good and reliable data. Over the past 29 years the company has focused on providing precision fabric and process measurements for fabric finishers.
Information important to monitoring the finishing operation
As a finishing manager or mill owner do you ever wonder how many fabric styles were processed on Tuesday, 10 September 2019? Or how many meters were finished on Stenter 3 today? What was the efficiency of Stenter 1 and if not 100% why not?
Perhaps the finishing supervisor wondered “how can I modify settings to achieve the greatest efficiency and highest possible yield from my stenter?”
These questions and more are difficult to answer when they depend upon pencil and paper reports from the production floor. Is the data current, accurate, and relevant? Can the source be trusted?
New product provides the data needed to monitor production and make management decisions
Automation Partners new product, Process_View OIM, complements its line of fabric density measurement and control systems and provides real time data on finishing operations. The Operator Interface Module (OIM) connects sensors and control modules to management information systems.
An easy to use, intuitive operator interface enables simplified operator training resulting in effective and consistent use. Quick connection to existing Automation Partners products makes adding this upgrade to OCS and SMS systems simple and economical.
Fabric style recipes stored and downloaded to OCS and SMS systems results in quick and error-free set up of control parameters to the stenter or sanforizer. Lot information can be pre-defined, entered at the start of a shift, stored, and recalled as needed thus minimizing operator paperwork and reducing documentation errors and downtime.
Full reporting capabilities provide for fabric style and production analysis for management review. Data includes meters processed by lot or batch, style, shift, machine. Records of machine efficiencies by shift, day, and week can provide early warnings of maintenance or operator training issues.
Network connectivity allows data to be shared with existing production databases. The result is more information to better manage limited resources in increasingly challenging market environments.
