“The Textile Industry Needs Higher Production Volumes and Continued Investment”
Furkan Atakan, Chairman of the Board of Türkiye’s well-established lingerie brand Yeni İnci, stated that demand has begun to recover following a challenging period for the textile industry. He emphasized that companies maintaining their production capabilities, continuing to invest, and focusing on brand building will emerge stronger in the next phase.
Sharing his assessment of the current outlook and future expectations for the textile industry, Atakan noted that the sector has faced significant challenges in recent years due to rising costs, fluctuating domestic demand, and volatility in global markets. Despite these difficulties, he said that the market is now showing clear signs of recovery.
Atakan stressed that the coming period presents greater opportunities for companies that have preserved their manufacturing strength. He also highlighted that Türkiye should leverage not only its production expertise but also its strong brands to enhance its global position.
“Textiles are more than just a manufacturing industry for us; they are a strategic sector in terms of employment, exports, and branding. Türkiye needs to move beyond the perception of being merely a contract manufacturer and establish a stronger presence in global markets through its own brands.” he said.

“We Must Preserve Our Manufacturing Spirit”
Speaking about Yeni İnci’s growth strategy, Atakan explained that manufacturing, quality, and branding remain the company’s three core pillars. He pointed out that lingerie is one of the most specialized segments of the textile industry, requiring expertise in design, pattern development, comfort, quality, and disciplined production.
According to Atakan, Yeni İnci continues to strengthen its core product categories while expanding its portfolio with new product groups to offer consumers a broader range of choices.
Commenting on the global shift of some textile investments to other countries due to changing cost structures, Atakan reaffirmed the company’s commitment to manufacturing and creating employment in Türkiye. He stated that Türkiye’s manufacturing culture, skilled workforce, and decades of industry expertise remain significant competitive advantages and emphasized that sustainable growth can only be achieved by preserving the country’s domestic production capabilities.
Price–Quality Balance Will Define the New Era
Atakan also observed that consumer purchasing behavior in the domestic market has changed considerably. He noted that affordable pricing, product quality, and effective cost management have become more important than ever for brands.

He explained that consumers are now more selective and place greater emphasis on the balance between price and quality. In response, Yeni İnci will continue to provide high-quality products at accessible prices.
Looking ahead, Atakan said the company will maintain its expansion strategy in both retail and exports.
“At Yeni İnci, we have increased our focus on high-street retail stores. In exports, we are working to reinforce our position in our established markets while building a lasting presence in new ones. Our primary objective is to become a strong Turkish lingerie brand with a permanent footprint across a wider geography.” he said.
Founded in 1964, Yeni İnci continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading names in Türkiye’s lingerie industry through ongoing investments, supported by its manufacturing expertise, commitment to quality, broad product portfolio, and long-term brand vision.
