In 2015, Kipaş Tekstil formalized the R&D and innovation spirit that served as its foundation in 2010 and founded the R&D Center with the blessing of the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology. In the statement made by Kipaş Tekstil, the following statements were used: “One of the most important factors for Kipaş Tekstil to be among the leading companies of the sector is its systematic innovation studies in production technology. In both yarn and fabric production facilities, production techniques and technologies are renewed to produce products suitable for customer demands and technological trends. It is developed through R&D projects. Value-added new product development, process-technology creation, and sustainability-efficiency studies are carried out. In this context, at the Kipaş R&D Center, 42 researchers, 9 technicians, and 4 support personnel from different disciplines, such as textile engineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and environmental engineering, work. In the R&D Center, 7 of them are TUBITAK projects; 18 projects, 78 of which have been completed, and 1 of which is Horizon, are in progress; in addition to its own engineering staff, joint scientific projects with many domestic and foreign universities and cooperation with international customers and suppliers are also carried out. Since the establishment of the R&D center at Kipaş Tekstil, there are 15 registered patents, one of which is international, and 19 patent applications under evaluation. In addition, since the establishment of the R&D Center, six brands have been created and registered.
