“Turkey, India and Vietnam Market Promising Hope for Us in 2023”
Andreas Hannes, Sedo Treepoint Management, Marketing, and Production Group Manager
Sedo Treepoint supplies integrated automation systems, data acquisition, color management systems, and control systems for the textile dyeing and finishing industry. We interviewed Andreas Hannes, Sedo Treepoint Management, Marketing, and Production Group Manager, for our Textile Teknoloji magazine. Hannes began his speech by expressing his sadness over two separate earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, which death and injured thousands of people in Kahramanmaraş.
Andreas Hannes said ; “We are also closely following the developments of the heavy earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Fortunately, many international responders are standing together to send help to those affected. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those hit by this tragedy.”
How was the year 2022 for SedoTreepoint in terms of production volume and orders?
The year 2022 was another good one for Sedo Treepoint. We successfully integrated our new Sedomat 6000 / 8000 controller series into the market and convinced many new and existing customers to switch to our latest controller series. We were able to participate in fairs and events and meet our customers, partners, and friends in person again e. g. at ITM Istanbul in June 2022. We are more than pleased with the revenue we have achieved despite all crises that occupy our world. What we see is that while Chinas economy was declining, other nations are gaining ground. Now we will have to wait and see what 2023 brings.
“We Invest in Vocational Education”
What kind of steps are you taking to solve the personnel training and qualified personnel problem?
We are more than happy to have a qualified and motivated team. But you are right, even we cannot deny the lack of qualified personnel and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find new colleagues. We have intensified our efforts and invest now more in vocational training for young people in our company. This is so important, not only for them, but above all for us. In the next few years, we will be relying on young professionals whom we train ourselves and to whom we pass on our know-how. In addition, we have always been able to convince suitable applicants of our team spirit and inspire them with our innovative products.
We Produce Some of The Electricity Needed by Our Facility Ourselves
Are there any products you have developed for the global energy crisis, and if so, what are they? Can you talk about the advantages these products offer to customers?
Yes, we are affected by the crisis, rising electricity costs and energy prices are not bypassing us. However, in our industry, energy costs are not such a big factor compared to e.g. our customers in the dyeing and finishing industry.
Nevertheless, we have installed our own energy management system at our company because EnergyMaster helps not only our customers but also us to optimize our energy consumption. Looking ahead, we have already invested in a solar energy system in 2019 with which we generate a part of the needed electricity for our site on our own.
As far as energy management is concerned, the demand from our customers is now increasing. Our EnergyMaster software helps you to measure, control and target your energy consumption. You can easily find out the biggest energy consumers, what causes peak consumption and identify abnormal consumption. By defining an energy efficiency plan with clear targets, you can quickly achieve significant energy savings. But beside EnergyMaster, all our products contribute to save resources like energy, water, dyestuffs and chemicals. Efficient processes, optimal recipes, less additions, … all this can be achieved by our solutions.

Do you have any new product projects or investments that you will announce soon? If yes, can you give us information about the process?
Our highlight is our Sedomat 6000 / 8000 controller series which brings together our knowledge of more than 40 years of machine automation. It’s a solution for every dyeing and finishing machine from small lab machines, yarn, and fabric machines to continuous machines. It is developed to match future standards through its high flexibility. The new series comes in 4 sizes, offers different interfaces and various I/O options. A PLC is already included for easy adaption to all types of dyeing and finishing machines. It is tested for rough production environments and build according to the highest quality standards. It is now one of the most modular and advanced systems on the market and offers everything needed for Industry 4.0 and the smart factory. Of course, new products will also be launched at ITMA in Milan this year.

What are your expectations about the World Textile sector and especially the textile machinery sector in 2023? Do you think there will be growth or contraction in the sector? What are your predictions?
Markets are always in a transition, actual themes like energy crisis, disruptions of supply chains influence the business. And we are all still suffering from the aftereffects of the corona pandemic. Some promising markets for us in 2023 are India, Vietnam, and Turkey. We are really excited about what the year 2023 will bring. We hope that we will all be saved from further crises for the time being and can focus on our business only.
“We will Exhibit The Sedomat 6000 / 8000 Series at ITMA 2023”
Which of your products will you exhibit at the ITMA 2023 Fair, which will be held in Milan in June?
In June ITMA will take place again. It is the leading fair of our industry and we are really looking forward to be again in Milan. At our booth, visitors can explore how to bring their smart factory to life with the support of our products. Of course, we will have our new controller series Sedomat 6000 / 8000 at the booth and will present our well-known software systems with new features.
