Hugues Schellenberg, President of French Textile Equipment Manufacturers Association (UCMTF) said; “Now, more than ever, we have a profound duty to prioritize sustainability and embrace the power of technology to shape the future of our industry.”
The French Textile Equipment Manufacturers Association (UCMTF) organized a dinner for the members of the press during the ITMA 2023. Many members of the press attended the event held in Palazzo Bovara, an 18th-century palace. The palace, which was also the home of the French writer Henry Beyle, better known by his pen name Stendhal, was also used as the French Embassy in the past.
UCMTF President Hugues Schellenberg made the opening speech of the invitation. Schellenberg said; “As we step into a new era of technological advancements and sustainable practices, we find ourselves at the crossroads of opportunity and responsibility. The textile industry has always been a driver of innovation, adapting to changing trends, and fulfilling the diverse needs of consumers across the globe. Now, more than ever, we have a profound duty to prioritize sustainability and embrace the power of technology to shape the future of our industry.”

“Sustainable Production Is Not An Option, It is an Imperative”
Underlining that French textile machinery manufacturers have changed the face of textile production thanks to their commitment to sustainability, Schellenberg continued his words as follows: “Through groundbreaking research, collaborative partnerships, and cutting-edge technologies, we have made significant progress in reducing our carbon footprint, conserving water, and promoting responsible production practices. We understand that sustainable manufacturing is not an option but an imperative, and our efforts are a testament to our dedication.
The power of innovation is at the heart of our industry’s evolution. As we witness the rise of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and advanced robotics, we are presented with infinite possibilities to revolutionize every aspect of textile manufacturing. These technological breakthroughs have enabled us to enhance efficiency, optimize processes, and unlock new realms of creativity. We are witnessing the convergence of the digital and physical worlds, where smart textiles, wearable technology, and custom manufacturing are becoming a reality.
“Let’s invest in education and training, share knowledge”
However, progress is not solely measured by technological advancements. It is measured by the positive impact we have on people’s lives. As we embrace innovation, we must ensure that no one is left behind. Our industry thrives on the skills and talents of individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Let us invest in education and training, creating opportunities for the next generation of textile professionals to unlock their potential and contribute to our collective success. By fostering inclusivity and diversity, we can build a stronger, more resilient industry. Let us continue to collaborate, share knowledge, and drive innovation, forging a path that leaves a positive impact on our planet and the lives of future generations.”

“ITMA will Positively Affect the Second Half of 2023”
UMTF Secretary General Christian Guinet said that 27 French textile machinery manufacturers participated in the ITMA 2023 Fair. Stating that the pandemic is over and they have accelerated their activities again, Guinet stated that the orders of many French textile machinery manufacturers are full and the ITMA Fair will have positive effects on the second half of 2023. Guinet said, “We predict that the apperal, home textile and carpet sectors will grow in the long term. Population, economic growth and many new applications will accelerate the technical textile sector. Then, new investments in equipment will be needed both to keep up with the growth of our customers and to modernise their factories.”
