“We Are Happy to Introduce Our New Technologies at ITM 2022”

Dornier, one of the leading weaving machine manufacturers, introduced its newest technologies at the ITM 2022. We interviewed Wolfgang Schöfel, Head of Dornier Weaving Machines Product Group, for our Tekstil Teknoloji magazine. Schöfel made evaluations about the ITM 2022 and the trends in weaving machines.

What were the gains of the ITM 2022 for the textile industry? Did the exhibition meet your expectations?

First of all I would like to thank to ITM to organize this exhibition in such a good way and bring all the customers again together with the suppliers. This is a very positive event. As you can look around, you see many people have waited to come back and meet and exchange technical information and talk how to overcome pandemic situation. As you can see the industry is moving very positive forward. And we are pleased to introduce our new technologies at the ITM 2022 to our customers in Turkey. We have lots of visitors, we have good technical discussion and so far we are very happy to have not only Turkish customers but also customers from other part of the world.

What are the features that distinguish the products you exhibit at the fair from your competitors and what will be the advantages they will provide to the users?

Dornier is the weaving division, very strongly focusing on technical application. If you look around here most of the people are working on the standard textile application. So we saw on your weaving machine you can produce products, you utilize for applications, for technical application in the automobile industry, composite systems… Dornier is working in the high application of technical textiles. Therefore, there is growing market in Turkey and we expect a lot of customer. Future will also grow into technical textiles.

What kind of collaborations did you sign during the exhibition?

We have customers from all around Europe here. And we talked with them. We are looking forward to developing good and new product, everything is good and very nicely. We concluded orders.

What are your evaluations about the Turkish textile industry and the Turkish market?

First of all we are very happy to see the productivity of Turkey which is becoming better and better. Textile industry in Turkey is booming up and growing gain after a difficult time that makes us happy, and we have happy customers can talk with us. We have project for the future together.

What are your predictions about trends and innovations in textile technologies in the near future?

I do believe the textile world will change. We all must look to the environment. The environment is important for us but also to the children. Therefore, we should have a vision what kind of product we are going to develop for the future that we have greener and better future for all of us. That’s the reason why Dornier is offer the green technology, the green machine which are very innovative to clean air filtration application to have greener and better future in the world.
