“We Focus on Carpet Printing, Technical Textiles and Military Applications”
Presenting Zimmer Austria’s digital printing systems at ITM 2026, CEO Andreas Rass said the company’s activities in Türkiye are centered on carpet printing. Referring to the company’s many installations in Gaziantep, Rass said Zimmer Austria offers solutions for carpet and towel printing as well as home textiles, fashion textiles, technical textiles, camouflage and military applications. He also emphasized that Istanbul is a priority meeting point for the company thanks to its easy access, strong textile and carpet background, and international customer network.
At its ITM 2026 booth, Zimmer Austria presented its digital printing systems through the wide variety of products made by its customers in Türkiye and around the world. Andreas Rass, CEO of Zimmer Austria, said the company’s focus in digital printing in Türkiye is around carpet printing and noted that Zimmer Austria has plenty of installations in Gaziantep. Rass added that they would be happy to welcome many of these customers at the booth during the exhibition.
In addition to carpet printing, Rass said the company is also very strong in towel production and towel digital printing, while screen printing and coating equipment forms another important part of its business.
Rass stated that the solutions shown at the fair cover home textiles, fashion textiles and the technical textile environment. He also underlined that security applications are a core part of both business units, especially camouflage and military applications, with the necessary technology to meet military requirements.
“Energy Prices Make the Market Difficult to Foresee”
Commenting on the outlook for the industry, Rass said it is currently very difficult to foresee where the market is going. He pointed out that the world is in turmoil when it comes to energy prices, which directly affects textile producers because Zimmer Austria’s customers are big energy consumers. Consumer markets, he added, are also struggling to keep pace with the available production.
Despite this uncertainty, Rass emphasized that the carpet industry remains the core of the company’s interest. In the digital printing segment, Zimmer Austria will continue to focus on carpet printing together with military applications.
For its screen printing and coating business, Rass said the company is focusing on coating and printing for technical textiles, supported by its rotary and flat screen printing equipment.
“Istanbul is a Strategic Hub for International Customers”
Rass described Istanbul as one of the core locations for meeting international customers and networking internationally. He also noted that it is very easy to travel to Istanbul.
Thanks to Türkiye’s strong textile and carpet background, Rass said Istanbul has become one of the centers where Zimmer Austria can gather new information and follow trends in the textile industry. For this reason, he said, being present at ITM every time is a top priority for the company.
