‘‘We Support Environmentally Friendly Production for a Sustainable Life’’

Mersan Makine exports machinery to more than 30 countries. The company, which adopts continuous development and quality orientation, adopts the principle of having a corporate culture that takes steps to continuously improve and develop service quality. It designs products that will provide added value to the environment and society with its many agencies around the world.
Mersan uses high quality raw materials and long-lasting spare parts during machine production and also provides the supply of these products.
The company produces value-added, environmentally friendly and sustainable products with its head office in Istanbul and factory in Tekirdağ. Taking care to ensure that its factories are in line with the latest innovations, the company develops value-added, economical and long-lasting machines in its R&D departments. The company, which manufactures textile finishing machines, provides services for the dye-finishing industry. In addition to new technology in industrial designs, our R&D department uses solid modeling to identify all external factors that the machines may be exposed to. Thus, the work is completed so that the machines can be used for many years.
We an interviewed with Çağatay Sümer, General Manager of Mersan Makine for the January Special Issue of Tekstil Teknoloji magazine: ‘Turkish Textile Machinery İndustry’.
Speaking to our magazine, Çağatay Sümer stated that they are developing value-added products to further increase their market share despite the negative effects of the Russia-Ukraine war for their companies and said; ‘‘The war between Russia and Ukraine had a negative impact on trade in terms of energy, raw materials and consumer goods. It indirectly affected all related sectors. It created important role distributions in the European and Asian markets. We will continue to see the impact of this in the coming years. We express at every opportunity that we support environmentally friendly production for a sustainable life. In this direction, we are working to increase our share in the market we dominate. Frankly speaking, we are creating our road maps to create added value for our planet by getting rid of the general political problems of the world.’’
‘‘We must work to build a sustainable future’’
Referring to the issue of sustainability and environmentally friendly production, which is on the agenda of the whole world and is gradually becoming a focal point in all sectors, Sümer said: ‘‘We are facing a climate crisis on a global scale. It was foreseen that this process would find an echo in our society as well. We must now work to build a sustainable future in many areas from production to our lives. We should minimize carbon emissions. In addition, as a society, not only for the textile sector but also for all sectors, we should offer solutions to minimize water and energy consumption by producing environmentally friendly machines.’’
Emphasizing that the sector is progressing and developing more and more every day, Sümer; ‘‘Especially the textile sector is progressing day by day and getting stronger with modern technologies. We will see more innovation, more machine learning infrastructures, more artificial intelligence and sustainable product examples in the textile industry in the future.’’

‘‘We created new collaborations thanks to ITM 2022 Exhibition’’
Evaluating 2022 in terms of orders and export rates, Çağatay Sümer said that they had a productive year and experienced an intense order period. Stating that they created new collaborations thanks to the ITM 2022 Exhibition, Sümer said; ‘‘2022 was a productive year in terms of production and order intensity. We came together with many of our partners and customers with ITM 2022 Exhibition. We signed new collaborations with many countries to which we sent new machines. In 2023, we will celebrate our 40th anniversary. We will be proud of the value-added products we will provide to our country in the 100th anniversary of the Republic.’’
Çağatay Sümer talked about the 2023 targets of Mersan Makine, one of the companies that continues its R&D activities and leads the sector, as follows; ‘‘We are one of the important companies investing in R&D. We have previously brought a new perspective to the sector with our 3 Felt Sanforizing (Shrink F3) machine. We would like to announce through Tekstil Teknoloji magazine that we will produce ‘Sanforizing Machine for Woven Fabrics’ in 2023. In 2023, our R&D activities will continue at full speed. I hope to work with all our strength as all machinery manufacturers to take our industry forward in the 100th year of our Republic. I wish a happy year with our stakeholders and business partners.
