Marzoli, the European manufacturer of a complete machine line for the production of cotton and synthetic fiber yarns, is one of the most established brands in the Italian textile machinery industry. The company offers highly efficient solutions for natural, synthetic, technical fiber preparation and spinning.
We interviewed with Marzoli’s Marketing Department Officer Ilaria Scalvini for the ‘Italy Special Section’. Saying that Marzoli considers sustainability and the environment while developing its products Scalvini said; “In Marzoli we believe that the present, and especially the future of the textile sector, is circular. This is why we are focused on continuous innovation in the mechanical regeneration of fibers.
Developing and adopting green technologies means for us to carefully balance economic with environmental sustainability. The circularity of fibers, thanks to fabrics regeneration, is creating a synergetic value chain among all the stakeholders. The new paradigm of a circular fiber supply chain will accelerate learning and development of know-how for all participating stakeholders pushing innovation and opening to new potentials.”
“Marzoli develops the most advanced digital technologies”
Mention that the importance of digitalization in the textile industry, Scalvini says that Marzoli is consistent in offering the most advanced digital technologies. Scalvini continues as follow: “The evolution of the industrial world led to developing a global network that can incorporate and connect the machinery, generating big added value through big data. In the textile sector, this added value takes the form of the ability to constantly monitor machines’ performance to ensure the optimization of critical parameters and make intelligent business decisions based on updated information.

Developing the most advanced digital technologies, Marzoli has created smart solutions for predictive maintenance, remote control and plant management. Moreover, thanks to the application of artificial intelligence to the textile process, we have developed TAOMApp, a smart mobile application for the analysis of the trash level inside the raw cotton and BRAIN BOX, the intelligent box for the optimization of roving frame performances.”
Stating that they have further strengthened their research and development function to create new solutions that can meet the current textile industry trends during the pandemic process, Ilaria Scalvini expressed that they focused on 4 main aspects: These are;
– The increase of machine flexibility and automation to obtain high-quality products
- The application of Artificial Intelligence and the constant improvement of digitalization for the optimization of textile processes
- The study of innovative technologies for textile regeneration
- The design of customized solutions for the nonwoven sector
At the end of the interview, we asked Scalvini about the company’s plans and targets for 2022; and she said: “We are confident and we believe that 2022 will continue the current positive trend of the previous year. 2022 will be the year in which we will return to participating in exhibitions, starting from ITM 2022, the main event for the textile sector in the Turkish market.
