In 2023, Global Denim Fabric Exports was 3.6 Billion Dollars
World Denim Fabric Sector Foreign Trade Report 2023 Assessment’ was published. According to the report; global denim fabric exports decreased by 24.2% in 2023 to 3.6 billion dollars.
China was the largest denim fabric exporter on a global scale with a share of 47.1%. In 2023, China’s denim fabric exports decreased by 19.5% to 1.7 billion USD. China was followed by Pakistan with 522 million dollars, India with 291 million dollars, Turkey with 268 million dollars and Egypt with 121 million dollars.
Turkey’s Largest Denim Fabric Export Market: Tunisia
Turkey ranked as the world’s 4th largest denim fabric exporter with a share of 7.3%. Tunisia was Turkey’s largest export market with a share of 19%. Turkey’s denim fabric exports to Tunisia decreased by 30% in 2023 and totalled 51 million dollars. Egypt ranked 2nd with a share of 18.1% and 48 million dollars and Morocco ranked 3rd with a share of 9.8% and 26 million dollars.
World denim fabric imports decreased by 23.5% in 2023 and totalled 3.2 billion USD. Bangladesh ranked first in global denim fabric imports with a 26.1% share. Bangladesh’s denim fabric imports in 2023 decreased by 33.1% to 847 million USD. Turkey was the 6th largest denim fabric importer with a share of 5.2% in global denim fabric imports. Turkey’s denim fabric imports in 2023 decreased by 20.9% and reached 170 million USD.
Pakistan was Turkey’s largest denim fabric supplier with a 46.1% share. Turkey’s imports from Pakistan decreased by 16.8% in 2023 and totalled 78 million USD.
Turkey Exported $1.7 Billion Denim Garment
Turkey’s denim garment exports decreased by 7.1% in 2023 to approximately 1.7 billion USD. Spain was Turkey’s largest export market in the denim garment sector with a share of 20.8%. Denim garment exports to Spain increased by 6.6% in 2023 and reached 349 million USD. Germany was Turkey’s 2nd largest denim garment market with a share of 15.2% and the Netherlands was Turkey’s 3rd largest denim garment market with a share of 13.2%. Turkey’s denim garment exports to Germany in 2023 decreased by 25.7% to 254 million dollars, while exports to the Netherlands decreased by 11.6% to 221 million dollars.
Turkey’s denim garment imports increased by 35.7% in 2023 and reached 254 million USD. Egypt was the biggest supplier of Turkey in denim garment sector with 44% share. Denim garment imports from Egypt increased by 50.8% in 2023 and reached 112 million USD. Bangladesh became Turkey’s 2nd largest denim garment supplier with a share of 19.4% and Pakistan became Turkey’s 3rd largest denim garment supplier with a share of 6.7%. In 2023, Turkey’s denim garment imports from Bangladesh increased by 60.3% to 49 million dollars and imports from Spain increased by 25.1% to 17 million dollars.
