Korteks Reduced Emissions by 44% and Zorluteks by 53%
Zorlu Textile Group, which manages sustainability with a 360-degree approach in terms of environmental, social and governance dimensions, has published its 2023 Sustainability Report, which was prepared in accordance with GRI Standards.
Zorlu Textiles Group, which includes Korteks, Europe’s largest integrated polyester yarn production center, and Zorluteks, the leading manufacturer in the cotton home textiles and polyester fabric industry, has once again published its third sustainability report, demonstrating its sustainability approach integrated into its business processes. The Group prepared its sustainability report within the framework of GRI standards and the United Nations Global Compact, of which it is a signatory.

Thanks to this approach, Zorlu Textiles Group has made impressive progress in our environmental performance last year. With its water saving efforts, Korteks contributed to the protection of 33,679 m³ and Zorluteks 848,000 m³ of water. We have made great strides in reducing emissions. To demonstrate our commitment to renewable energy, we continue to reduce our emissions while using the I-REC certification. Korteks has reduced its emissions by 44% since 2020, while Zorluteks has achieved a 53% decrease. We have also achieved significant success with the work done in the field of waste reduction; Korteks and Zorluteks have reduced waste by 33% and 16%, respectively. As Zorlu Textile Group, we continue to develop sustainability-oriented smart textile products. We strengthen our leading position in this field in the sector with our R&D and innovation studies. Zorlu Textile Group Signed 91 Projects in 2023 with R&D Approach
Zorlu Textile Group is also a pioneer of innovation in the textile industry, with an annual R&D budget of 4 million dollars, and continues to work with a total of 123 employees in two R&D centers within Korteks and Zorluteks. In 2023, the company completed 91 projects with an R&D approach focused on sustainability and circular economy.
