Zeynal Abidin Kaplan, President of the Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters’ Association told that 2024 is difficult for the carpet industry, like many other sectors.
Stating that they have implemented various projects to maintain the sector’s power, Kaplan said, “Especially recently, we have turned to distant countries. We are trying to increase our market share in these countries by promoting our products with our trade delegations to countries such as Malaysia, Australia, Mauritania, Senegal, India, and Japan.”
Stating that the wars have negatively affected their trade with Ukraine, Russia, and Middle Eastern countries, Kaplan added that they are trying to tolerate them with different markets, that they believe that they will achieve their year-end targets and that they will strive to ensure that Gaziantep, which is the leader in the carpet industry, maintains this leadership.
