Zorluteks Introduces Ecodesign Product Range Reducing The Carbon Footprint

Zorluteks, which has made a name for itself with its production processes based on sustainability as well as its high quality and environment-friendly products that pay attention to human health, takes its environmental and social activities to the next level. Recently, the company underlined once again its role as a playmaker with Ecodesign products, in which its carbon footprint is reduced by at least 50 percent. Many products such as bed linen, tablecloths, and decorative pillowcases will be produced within the scope of the Ecodesign product range, which is manufactured using less water, energy, and chemicals.
Zorluteks reduced its carbon footprint despite increased production in 2020
Cemil Çiçek, General Manager of Zorluteks stated that they have made sustainability a way of doing business within the framework of the Smart Life 2030 strategy, and continued his statement as follows, ‘‘We continue to contribute to the construction of a sustainable future with our regenerative business model. We manage our impact on this subject by taking the Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal as a guide. In this context, we can calculate the water and carbon footprint on a product basis with our R&D and technology investments.’’
Emphasizing that they aim to further expand the sustainable product category in the coming period, Çiçek indicated that they have started to see the solid outcomes of their steps towards reducing carbon emissions. Çiçek stated that although the amount of production increased in 2020, the carbon emission decreased by 4 percent compared to the previous year.

Zorluteks General Manager Çiçek finalized his statements on the subject as follows, ‘‘By completing the STeP, “Sustainable Textile Production” certification process at our production facilities, we have documented that we are a sustainable textile manufacturer. In parallel, we have also registered that we can produce with the ‘Made in Green’ label used with the Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex and STeP by Oeko-Tex documents.
